Welcome to The RYLA Game — a high-energy scavenger hunt designed to challenge your creativity, collaboration, and leadership skills. Your team will race against time (and yourselves) to complete tasks that test your observation, imagination, problem-solving, and heart. But remember: this is not just a competition — it’s an experience in unity, purpose, and service.

General Rules

  • Pick one person on your team to be your navigator, they will use their phone to unlock the challenges
  • Pick a second person on the team to be your social media liaison, they will document and share your success.
  • Use the map to find one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus spread across the campus
  • Only one team can work on a particular challenge at a time
  • No splitting up, your team must stick together
  • Your team counselor can’t help, they are there to observe and keep track of your points

Types of Activities

Some activities are given to you, some are unlocked at an area flag and others you have to discover. Here are all the types of activities you will encounter during the game:

  • CHALLENGE

    Challenges are often physical in nature and need to be completed in proximity to the area flag.

  • TASKS

    Each area will unlock 4 tasks that vary in point value and may or may not need to be completed close by.

  • BONUS

    Be strategic — bonus points can make a difference between winning & losing.

  • SOCIAL

    To get the points most activities require you to post a picture or video to our photo wall.

  • JUST FOR FUN

    These are warm up activities to help you get started.

The Fine Print

  • Staff Participation
    • You can only use a staff member once, choose wisely
    • Staff may ask you to complete an additional task before helping you
    • Staff can only help teams 3 times then they are off limits
  • Documentation
    • All tasks need to be documented with a photo or a video
    • The entire team needs to be included in the documentation
    • Your team counselor can’t help record the documentation
  • Restricted Areas
    • You can come in the PDR but the cafeteria is off limits
    • Do not enter any classroom buildings
